David Yetto age 79 of Colchester, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born October 25, 1938, in Highland, Illinois, to Anthony and Opal Simmons Yetto. David was united in marriage on June 12, 1971 in Sparta, Wisconsin, to Nancy Pettis.
Surviving to mourn his passing are his Wife of 46 years, Nancy Yetto, 1 Son: Curtis Yetto, 3 Daughters: Carmen (Clint) Yetto Gould, Angela (Reginald) Yetto Newton, Tina (Ben) Fairchild, 15 Grandchildren, Ebonee (Josh) Block 25, De Angela Brown,21, Jazlyn Newton 12, Schylar Fairchild 21, Shelby Fairchild 18, Shyanne Fairchild 17, Brett Fairchild 14, Shaylee Fairchild 10, Shantaye Fairchild 7, Nicole Floyd 37, Joshua Floyd 32, Anthony Yetto 33, Catelynn Yetto 25, Courtney Yetto 23, Andrew Yetto 21, 6 Great Grandchildren: Aiden Block 5, Ariya Block 3, Makenzlei Floyd 8, Tyler Pace 20, Caila Pace 14, Aydin Pace 10, 2 Brothers, Anthony Yetto Jr., Joseph Yetto, 1 Sister: Lynnie Stewart, and 1 Step Father: Clyde Banks.
David had been with Burlington Northern Railroad, Yard Maintenance of Mt. Auburn Cemetery, and Paper delivery for Gateway House. He was a member of the Masons, and a very active member of the Colchester First Baptist Church, of which he drove the church van to transport kids to all church activities. He enjoyed collecting tools of which he would share with his family, along with taking them fishing. David also enjoyed talking to anyone that he came across, either in person or on his CB radio. David taught all of his family how to drive. Of all the things that David did his greatest love was for his wife, Nancy along with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his Lord.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Colchester First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Clements, burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Family visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday.
