William Lyle Renshaw

William “Lyle” Renshaw age 73 of Colchester, passed away at his home in Colchester, on Sunday, July 30, 2023.  He was born February 21, 1950, in Macomb to Glen E. and Mary Lou Fowler Renshaw.

Surviving to mourn his passing are 1 son: Cody Renshaw, St. Louis, Missouri, 1 sister: Kay (Mike) Fry Sr., Bloomington, Illinois, 2 nephews: Tom “Jody” Cassell and family, Danvers, Illinois, and Chris “Misty” Phillips and family, Danvers, Illinois.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son: Clint Renshaw.

Lyle was a 1968 graduate of Colchester High School.  Lyle served his country in the United States Navy, serving on board the USS Kitty Hawk as a Helicopter Mechanic.  Lyle served during the Vietnam War.  He had also worked at Bowers in Macomb and King Sealy. Later Lyle started driving a truck hauling whatever needed to be hauled.  He then worked for Heil Trucking in Prairie City driving for Pioneer Seed Company, delivering equipment to test plots.  They always knew that no matter what the conditions were, Lyle would get the equipment to the field.  He enjoyed farming, going to tractor pulls, and mud slings.  Lyle enjoyed all the time he spent with his family and friends at the Macomb V.F.W., Macomb American Legion, or the Macomb Elks.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Celebration of Life Reception will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Macomb V.F.W. with military rites by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion to be held at 2:00 P.M. at the V.F.W.  Private burial will be held at Hutchinson Cemetery.  Memorial is to the Colchester Fire Department or Disabled Veterans.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester has been assisting the family.  Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
