Viviane Beal Obituary

Viviane L. Beal went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 3:57 P.M. on Saturday, February 4th 2023, at St. Johns hospital in Springfield, Illinois.  Viviane was born February 7, 1931, at home in St. Mary’s Illinois, to Frederick Daniel and Hannah Jane Fowler Phelps.  She married Earl Beal on June 20, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in Colchester where she attended for most of her life.  To that union were born six children, Susan Fairchild of Colchester, Karen Peters of Macomb, Earl (Kathy) Beal of Ft. Madison, Christine Oliver of Galesburg, Laurel (Ronald) Blue of Carthage and Fredrick (Brenda) Beal.

Viviane was blessed with 15 Grandchildren: Lisa (Paul) Butterfield, Vicki (Rick) Williams, Ben (Tina) Fairchild, Mary Bunny, Mikayla Van Fleet, Michelle Delagado, Mindy (Adam) Logan, Bridget (Jeff) Carlson, Ryan (Shannon) Blue, Heather (Perry) Henkes, Rebekah Oliver, Renee Vuchkovich, 30 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren with another due in June, and 1 sister in law: Velva June Beal.

Viviane had worked at the Colchester Nursing Center and the Elms Nursing Home until her retirement.  Viviane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband the love of her life Earl Beal, in 2000, her 3 brothers: Kenneth, Robert and Roger Phelps, many brother and sister in laws, 2 son in laws: Robert Fairchild and Kent Peters, her son: Fredrick Beal, 3 grandchildren: Rachel Oliver, Andrew Blue and Troy Van Fleet.

Viviane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She devoted her life to her family always putting their needs over her own.  Her love and kindness will be forever remembered by those who knew her.  Viviane had a passion for crocheting and spent countless hours creating beautiful afghans for everyone of her children and grandchildren.  Beautiful doilies adorn the homes of people she loved.  Her talent for handiwork will be cherished for generations to come.

In her free time Viviane enjoyed reading and playing games on her Kindle.  She had a beautiful smile that could light up a room and a never ending love for her family always asking how everyone was doing and spreading her love.

She had a love for God and shared her faith with those around her.  Her unwavering faith in Jesus was a true testament to her character and her love for God will continue to inspire those who know her.  She attended church faithfully until the end.  She will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Our family will be forever indebted to our sister Karen who opened her home to our Mom 20 years ago and lovingly cared for her.
