Vickie Irene Josvai age 71 of Macomb, passed away with her family at her side on December 11, 2024, at her home in Macomb. She was born November 7, 1953 in Burlington Iowa, to Jimmie and Loretta Cox Morrell. She was first married to George Briggs and then to James Josvia on May 16, 2003, at the McDonough County Court House, he preceded her in death.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 son: David S. Briggs, Macomb, 2 daughters: Terri J. (Bill) Roberts, Macomb, Karma D. (Jonathan) Carter, Cookeville, Tennessee, 6 grandchildren: Ashley (Cody) McCormick, Astoria, Il., Austin Roberts, Macomb, Il., Erik (Amber Hovey) Carter, Monee, Il., J.D. Carter, Cookeville, TN, Taylor Carter, Cookeville, TN., Alexis Linyenmeyer, Washburn, Il., and 2 great grandchildren: Harper McCormick, Astoria, Il., and Nicholas Carter, Monee, Il.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, her step father: Harold Whaley, sisters: Debbie Qualls, Marge (Wade) McCormick, and brother: “Butch” Everett Whaley.
Vickie had worked in food service for over half of her life as a Cocktail waitress. She was a member of the Macomb V.F.W. and loved going for the catfish dinners along with seeing all her friends. She also enjoyed going to the Macomb American Legion to visit with her friends. When she had time she could be found playing games on her tablet. Most of all Vickie loved the time she spent with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will hold a Celebration of Life open house from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Macomb V.F.W. Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester is handling arrangements.
