William “Tom” Creasey age 87 of Colchester, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Sunset Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Canton, Illinois. He was born November 13, 1936 in Macomb, to William and Helen Sowers Creasey. Tom was united in marriage January 30, 1955 in Macomb, to Karen Sue Kugler, she preceded him in death on September 28, 2003, he was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: Bob Creasey.
Surviving to mourn his passing is 1 son: Thomas William Creasey, Avon, 2 daughters: Jean Marie (Gary) Beckner, Reidvilles, North Carolina, Tamra Sue King, Bloomington, Illinois, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 sister: Mary (Jim) Muir, Atlanta Georgia.
In the mid 1950’s Tom was the catcher for the Macomb Baseball League. He then found the love to race motorcycles and gave up baseball. His motorcycle racing career was one that brought him great joy. He started as a novice but finished with a National Plate, along with over 500 trophies, and was featured in the Cycle World Magazine. He had raced for both Harley and Triumph race teams. He was also one of the cofounders of the Lamoine Ramblers and the Macomb Trail Ride Club. At the age of 36 Tom grave up motorcycle racing. He worked for WL Miller driving a dump truck for 18 years, Then drove a charter bus for Randall Charter Bus Company for many years. He helped get the buses for Colchester 6th grade class trip to Six Flags in St Louis for 6 years. Tom and Karen owned and operated Creasey Shell in Colchester. Tom also enjoyed deer hunting and camping.
Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, with Rev. Jim Clayton. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Tuesday. Memorial is to the donors choice.
