Roxie Belle Zimmerman

    Roxie Belle Zimmerman age 82 of Augusta, Illinois, went to be with her Lord, Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Elms Nursing home in Macomb.  She was born November 4, 1937 in Colchester, to Davie and Ethel Wike Powell.  Roxie was united in marriage to Larry D. Zimmerman, he preceded her in death in 2016.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Ed Zimmerman, and 1 grandson: Derrick Zimmerman.

    Surviving to mourn her passing are 2 sons: Dennis Zimmerman, Augusta, Dale (Amy) Zimmerman, Beardstown, 2 daughters: Cindy (Shawn) Hamilton, Augusta, Tammy Cook, Camdenton, Missouri, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with 1 more on the way, 2 brothers: Scotty (Nancy) Powell, Avon, and Sam (Marsha) Powell, Eclair, Wisconsin.

    Roxie was a member and very active in Bethel Baptist Church, she enjoyed reading especially her Bible, she enjoyed her flowers at her home and going to concerts to listen to her favorite country songs.  She had worked as a CNA at the Augusta Shelter Care Center, then at Methode Electronics in Carthage.  The time she spent with her family brought her the greatest joy in her life.

    Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 19, 2020, at Bethel Cemetery with Pastor Jim Richardson. Cremation rites have been accorded.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Thursday.  Memorial is to Bethel Baptist Church.
