Ronald Kelly Obituary

Ronald R. Kelly

October 13, 1946 – May 27, 2020

Ronald R. Kelly died Wednesday May 27, 2020 at Heartland Health Care at the age of 73. He resided at Heartland since suffering a stroke 2 years ago and was taken from us by the Coronavirus.

Ronald was born October 13, 1946 at Phelps Hospital in Macomb, IL to Sylvan “Mike” and Wilma (Kreps) Kelly.

Graduate of Macomb High School, Marine Corps Sergeant 1968-71. After his military service he met the love of his life Linda and married April 26, 1975.

Someone once said: if your life were a book; would anyone want to read it?

Not many would have had a life so colorful. An entrepreneur before most knew what the word meant.

He ran businesses not only here in the Macomb area but around the world. Growing up walking the streets of the rural area with family and friends, to a stroll down the Great China wall with the giants of industry.

With many risks, and with it, there were failures and many successes, the chapters of his life filled with adventures only most could dream of, That Said! There is not enough print here to even tell a few of there stories and how they came to be.

He loved dogs, cars and going on family road trips. He was an energetic, passionate, loving presence on this earth. He was energized by talking with people and saw potential in everyone.

In all the events that shaped his life, there was always one constant. That was, and still is family.

Because of our National Pandemic that contributed to his passing before his natural time. The family intends to have a private service at this time, a life celebration will be held at a later date and time when it is safe to do so. Friends may view and sign the register book at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 8:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. Burial will be at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, Illinois. Online Condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com

A lot will say that he lived a full life, think it best said, that he lived life to its fullest.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Mike, mother, Wilma and brother Spike.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Kelly, Son Mike Kelly Colchester, IL Daughter Kimberly Kelly-Burch (Michael), Portland Oregon, Daughter Jacklyn Bell. Grandson Matt Anderson, Granddaughter Lily Bell, Sister Patsy Capps and many nieces and nephews.
