Roger Kent Kelley age 76 of Colchester, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born December 9, 1945 in Macomb, to Harold and Margaret Creasey Kelley. Roger was united in marriage March 22, 1969 in Macomb to Linda Luder.
Surviving to mourn his passing are his wife of 53 years Linda Kelley, Colchester, 3 sons: Robert (Amy) Kelley, Carthage, Russell (Lisa) Kelley, Colchester, Randall (Shannon) Kelley, Colchester, 9 grandchildren; Lance (Laci) Kelley, Lyndsay (Chris) Cole, Cody Frost, Tommy Frost, Logan Hilton, Xavier Hilton, Madisyn Kelley, Bailey Kelley, 5 great grandchildren: Ashlynn Kelley, Anthony Cole, Lawson Kelley, Claire Frost, Calix Frost 2 sisters; Connie Powell, Colchester, Penny (George) Stewart, Macomb, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; Don Kelley, and 1 granddaughter: Kelly Frost.
Roger served his country in the United States Navy. During his time with the navy he was a winch operator that transferred material from one ship to the other in the open sea. Roger spent 26 years with Derry and Sons Ready-Mix in Macomb, then with Mc Entire Ready-Mix, Wayland Ready-Mix and Laverdiere Concrete. He and Linda had owned and operated Kelley Cafe in Colchester. Roger enjoyed being outside mowing, hunting, fishing, training and raising Beagles and Coon dogs, going to Creasey Trade Days, anything that he could do outside. He and Linda enjoyed line dancing and were members of the GM line dancing. He was a Macomb High School graduate and was proud to be part of the Bomber football team while he was in high school. Most of all Roger loved all the time he spent with his family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester, with Rev. Jim Luder. Military services at the grave by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, November 14, 2022, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends may sign the register book a the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Monday. Memorial is to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
