Wichita, Kansas – Roger L. Chockley, age 68, passed away on Monday December 14, 2015 at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita. Born November 8, 1947, in Macomb, Illinois, he was the son of the late Rolen and Helen Chockley (nee McFadden).
Roger served in the United States Navy in 1965 – 1967 aboard the USS America. He subsequently worked in various fields mostly as a professional truck driver. He spent most of his adult life claiming the Wichita, Kansas area as home. In his earlier years, he participated in Rodeo competitions as a Bull Rider. He also enjoyed working with horses, golfing and was an avid Denver Bronco fan.
He is survived by a daughter Jennifer Chockley and grand-daughter Molly Welsh both of Kansas. He is further survived by brothers Randall, Rodney, Richard and sister Rita Rouse all residing in Illinois
A graveside memorial service and burial will be held at the Industry, Illinois Cemetery at a later date. Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
