Robert L Whitford

Robert L. Whitford age 81 of Macomb, formerly of Colchester, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at Country View Care Center in Macomb.  He was born June 5, 1941 in Augusta, Illinois, to Charlie and Carrie McLean Whitford.  Robert was united in marriage July 30, 1966 in Augusta, Illinois to Marilyn Fitzjarrald, she survives of Macomb.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 56 years Marilyn Whitford, Macomb, 1 daughter: Sherry Whitford, Macomb, 1 son: Brad (Brooke) Whitford, Macomb, 2 granddaughters: Sophie Whitford, Mckenzi Whitford, 1 brother: Larry (Darla) Whitford, Plymouth, 1 sister: Patricia Rash, Plymouth, 3 sister in laws: Sandy Whitford, Judy (Lloyd) Martin, Colchester, Brenda (Chris) Hance, Macomb, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 granddaughter: Mindy Akers, 1 brother: John Whitford, 1 half sister: Rita, and 1 sister in law: Barb Steinhour.

    Robert had worked at Shelor Mobile homes in Colcheter, Sheller Globe, Keokuk, Iowa, King Seeley Thermos and Miller concrete blocks both in Macomb.  He enjoyed mushrooming, hunting, fishing, camping, mowing, playing horse shoes, just about anything outdoors.  Bob and Marilyn both enjoyed to travel all over the United States. Bob also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, going to basketball games at Western Illinois University, bowling, playing pool, most of all he loved the time he spent with his family.

    Cremation Rites have been accorded.  Friends may sign the register book at the Jones Mortuary from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  Memorial is to the family of Robert Whitford. Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
