Robert L. Petty

Robert Lynn Petty age 63 of Colchester, Illinois, passed away May 20, 2017 in his home in Colchester. He was born March 15, 1954 in Quincy, Illinois, to James and Mable Brown Petty. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Denver and Margie Petty.
Bob is survived by 2 Sons: James (Heather) Petty of Colchester, Illinois, and Shawn Hilton (Deb Clem) of Colchester, Illinois, 5 Grandsons: Riley, Denver, Dallas Petty, Logan and Xavier Hilton, 2 Granddaughters: Belle Petty and Joslyn Hilton. 1 Sister: Hope Clark of Macomb, Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt and uncle, 2 Brothers: Mike Petty, Ernie Petty, 2 Sisters: Donna Wardell and Marilyn Geremiah.
Bob was a 1972 graduate of Macomb High School. He had many jobs over the years with the last being a union painter at Western Illinois University. Bob had a rough exterior, but on the inside he had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone out. Bob was very proud of his grandkids and loved them dearly. He made sure to stop by multiple time per day to see them.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at LaHarpe Cemetery in LaHarpe, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday.
