Robert L Brake

Robert Leslie Brake, 83 of Venice, Florida formerly of Colchester, Illinois passed away June 4, 2020.

He was born January 29, 1937 in Macomb to Francis and Anna Mae Brake. 

Surviving to mourn his passing are daughter Beth Kuntz, Mendon Illinois, son Scott (Lori) Brake Altus, Oklahoma and stepsons Todd Danner Monmouth, Illinois and Mark (Carrie) Danner Hannibal Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Don (Carol) Brake Lewisville, Texas and Gary (Linda) Brake, Noblesville, Indiana.  

Preceded in death by his wife Judi Brake and parents Francis and Anna Mae Brake. 

Bob graduated Colchester High School in 1955. He first married Peggy Green and they had a daughter and son. He spent many years employed at Thermos in Macomb before transferring to Mississippi.

In 1980, Bob married Judi and became stepfather to 2 sons.  He eventually retired from Bell Sports in Rantoul, Illinois. 

Bob and Judi then retired to Florida while enjoying traveling and the beach life. After his retirement he still found joy working in the hospitality industry for many years. 

Bob greatly enjoyed family & friends, following sports especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball, playing a spirited round of golf and a good conversation. 

Graveside services will be 2:30 P.M. Monday, October 26, 2020, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.  The family will meet friends at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, Monday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:15 P.M.  Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M.
