Richard (Rich) A. Hodges

Richard A. “Rich” Hodges, age 56, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, formerly of Colchester, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Avon Hospital in Ohio. He was born March 28, 1970, in Macomb, Illinois, to Elvin and Marna Wheeler Hodges. Rich was united in marriage November 21, 1992, in Colchester, to Michelle Schauble, she survives.

Surviving to mourn his passing is his parents, Elvin and Marna Hodges, Colchester, his wife, Michelle Hodges, Sheffield Lake, Ohio, 1 son: Nicholas Kenneth Hodges, Sheffield Lake, Ohio, 1 brother: Steve (Melissa) Hodges, Springfield, Illinois, 1 niece and 1 nephew: Elaina Hodges, St. Louis, Missouri, and Alex Hodges, Westmont, Illinois, his father and mother in law: David and Peggy Schauble, Tennessee, Illinois, 2 sister in laws: Jennifer (Matt) Hubbert, Winchester, Illinois, Haley (Casey) Horne, Pennsville, New Jersey, 1 brother in law: Scott (Angie) Schauble, Tennessee, Illinois, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rich was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Rich was the director of the I.T Department, for Hexpol Compounding in Ohio. Rich and Nick spent many hours together playing video games such as Planetside 2, and many others. He loved taking care of the bird feeders and watching the birds, his favorite were the yellow finches. Rich also found joy in feeding the squirrels and watching them. He liked to fish, and play the drums as well. Rich loved every second that he spent with Michelle, they were rarely ever apart. They enjoyed going to St. Teresa’s Church on Sundays, taking trips to the gardening stores, and going to Starbucks together daily. Most importantly Rich loved his family and every moment spent with them.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M, Thursday, April 30, 2026, at St. Pauls Catholic Church with Father Marc Nkulu, burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M, Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Memorial is to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
