Richard G Raymond

Richard G. Raymond age 82 of Colchester, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Prairie City Nursing home in Prairie City, Illinois.  He was born June 16, 1939, in rural Macomb, to Carl and Mary Edwards Raymond.  He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Beaty, on June 17, 1972, in Industry, Illinois.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 50 years, Betty Raymond, Colchester, 1 son: John Raymond, Colchester, 1 twin brother: Donald (Caroline) Raymond, Macomb.

    Richard was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Clifford Raymond and Carl Raymond.

    Richard had worked at John Deere Harvester in Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He and Betty lived in Moline for many years before returning back to Colchester. He served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.  Richard enjoyed traveling with Betty through most of the United States. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and gardening and was a very strong fighting Illini fan watching both basketball and football. In his younger years he attended the Macomb Assembly of God Church.  Most of all Richard loved all the time he spent with his family.

    Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 13, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, with Pastor Don Hightower.  Military rites at the grave will be conducted by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
