Peggy Jo Mustain age 75 of Lincoln, Illinois passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at her home in Lincoln. She was born July 14, 1949 in Keokuk, Iowa to Harold and Jaunita Le Clere Welch. Peggy was united in marriage to Albert Lee Mustain on October 4, 1969. He preceded her in death April 11, 2015.
They had 6 children, Clint (Stacie) Mustain of Coquille, Oregon, Kyle (Kristy) Mustain, Peoria, Illinois, Krista (Chris) Davis, Colchester, Illinois, Curt Mustain, Lincoln, Illinois, Collin Mustain, New Holland, Illinois, Corey Mustain, Lincoln, Illinois, 7 grandchildren, Jackson (Rebecca) Parm, Caden Reinhart, Kyleigh Mustain, Cooper Mustain, Katherine Mustain, Kal Mustain, Conner Mustain, 3 sisters, Pat Byers, Carthage, Illinois, Judy (Gerald) Allison, Carthage, Illinois, Vicki (Rick) Crum, Marquette Heitz, Illinois along with many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, Shirley Haines, Sherry Nye and 1 brother, Jerry Welch.
Peggy graduated from Western Illinois University to become a teacher. She was also a realtor for a few years. Peggy’s faith was very important to her. She grew up going to the First Baptist Church in Carthage. As an adult she belonged to the First Christian Church in Colchester, then the Christian Church in Hartsburg and was currently attending Open Arms Fellowship Church in Lincoln, Illinois. Peggy’s favorite times were spent with her family and friends from her new church.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester with Pastor Clint Mustain. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2025. Private Entombment in the Glade City Mausoleum will take place at a later date. Memorial is to the family of Peggy Mustain for expenses.
