Peggy J. Ehmpke

Peggy J. Ehmpke age 68 of Macomb, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.  She was born December 9, 1952 in Macomb, to Earl and Phyllis Porter Macklin.  She was united in marriage in Macomb 1986 to Charles Ehmpke.     

    Surviving to mourn her passing is her husband of 35 years Charles Ehmpke, Macomb, 2 sons: Bryan (Melinda) McFadden Jr, Blandinsville, Jason Shepler, Macomb, 1 daughter: Elizabeth Kays, Ashland, 10 Grandchildren: Erik McFadden, Zack ( Kenzie) OConnell, Nicholas McFadden, Isabella McFadden, Basil (Gabby) Beadles the 5th, Zachary Kays, Shawnee Kays, Georgia Shepler-Lawson, Elizabeth Shepler, Jacob Shepler, 2 great grandchildren: Cambree McFadden, Anthony Jackson, 1 brother: James Macklin, Warsaw, and several nieces and nephews.

    Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister: Toni Brown and 1 sister in law: Camilla Macklin.

    Peggy had worked at Argyle Lake State Park, she loved to go on walks, she enjoyed cooking, especially her famous chicken and noodles.  She also enjoyed reading, listening to country music, watching the St.Louis Cardinals and get togethers with friends.  The time she spent with her family brought her the greatest joy in her life.

    Celebration of life gathering will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Prairie View Shelter at Argyle Lake State Park.  Private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements for the family.  Memorial is to the family of Peggy and can be sent to Jones Mortuary, box 352, Colchester, Illinois, 62326.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.jonesmortuaryfh.com.
