Obituary

Olin L. Husband age 71 of Colchester, passed away at his home with his family at his side, Tuesday, December 22, 2020.  He was born June 14, 1949, in Good Hope, Illinois to James and Dorothy Martin Husband.  Olin was united in marriage July 10, 2010, in Macomb, to Dorothy Mesick.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife: Dorothy Husband, Colchester, 3 Sons; Olin Lee (Tori) Husband, Canton, Brandon Shepler, Macomb, Wesley Shepler, Macomb, 4 daughters: Melissa Husband, Galesburg, Shirlene Bridger Husband, Galesburg, Jessica Smith, Bushnell, Felecia (Josh) Whites, Canton, 16 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers: Larry (Nori Husband, Mendota, Jerry (Connie) Husband, Mendota, Marian (Ruthy) Husband, Oquawka, 3 sisters: Doris (Richard) Bates, Florida, Jean (Larry) Gittings, Colchester, Glenda (Bernard) Smith, Colchester, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Olin was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter: Rose Bennett, 1 sister Sylvia Husband, 1 sister and bother in law: Judy and George Danner, 1 brother and sister in law: Jim and Lorana Husband and 1 brother: Don Husband.

    Olin had worked at Tennessee sand and gravel and for Steve Koltsenberg Construction.  He was the co owner of Husband racing with Don Husband.  Olin has raced at all the local tracks in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.  He loved to watch figure 8 racing and never missed watching a NASCAR race.  He loved to work with his hands, whether it was building something out of wood or fixing a friend,s car.  He loved helping his friends and family.

    Cremation rites have been accorded.  Graveside services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester and Celebration of life at the Macomb V.F.W. will be held at a later date.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangments for the family.  Memorial is to the family of Olin and can be sent to the family of left at the funeral home.     Online condolence may be expressed to the family at www.jonesmortuaryfh.com.
