Norma Wetterich Obituary

    Norma “Jane” (Lawson) Wetterich, 86 of Colchester, passed away March 9, 2023, at 11:25 A.M. in her home with family by her side.

    She was born September 9, 1936, in Missouri to Thomas “Clifford” and Geraldine (Barr) Lawson.  She graduated from Carthage High School in 1954.  After graduation she worked at Sheaffer Pen in Ft.Madison, Iowa.  On November 25, 1956, Jane married her high school sweetheart Merton Wetterich.

    Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and infant sister: Carol Lynn Lawson, brothers: Delbert Lawson and Dean Lawson, mother and father in law: Mildred and Martin Wetterich, sister in laws: Marlys Lawson and Jane Ann Lawson, son in law: Mike Ogle.

    Left to celebrate her life and mourn her passing are her husband, Mert of Colchester, her brother, Keith Lawson of Carthage, her daughter, Annetta Ogle of Colchester, grandson, Nathan (Laura) Hoke, of Colchester, granddaughter, Lissa (Seth Ritter) Hoke, of Colchester, step grandson, Michael Ogle of Lees Summit, MO., step grand daughter, Deborah (Jeremiah) Hollars of St. Joseph MO., great grandson, Darion Hoke of Colchester, great grand daughters, Audrina Hoke and Kaylyn Ritter, of Colchester, step great granddaughter, Jordon (Nikia) Ogle-Edom, of Plainfield, Illinois, step great grandson, Caysen Hollars and step great granddaughter, Dylan Hollars, both of St. Joseph, MO., step great great grandchildren, Nico and Avery Ogle-Edom of Plainfield, IL, along with brother and sister in law, Melvin and Dorothy Wetterich, of Carthage, Il., 3 nieces and 7 nephews.

    Jane was a homemaker and helpmate to Mert in his business.  Jane took great joy being outside feeding the birds and squirrels and tending to her flowers.  The number of the many puzzles she completed is unknown.

    Memorial contributions may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice, Humane Society of McDonough County (Building Fund) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

    Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Jones Mortuary with Pastor Larry Rickard.  Burial will follow the services at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
