Nancy S. Hansen age 71 of Canton, Illinois, passed away at her home in Canton, Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was born October 25, 1950, in Macomb, to Richard and Leila Beal Reed. She was united in marriage in 2012 in Banner, Illinois, to Mark Hansen.
Surviving to mourn her passing is the love of her life, her husband Mark Hansen, Canton, her mother: Leila Webster, Canton, 3 step sons: Jeff Miller, Jim Miller, Joe Miller all of Chillicothe, 3 daughters; Amie (Josh) Friday, Macomb, Kim Riley, Bushnell, Nicole (Gunthar) Weaver, Colchester, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother: Kent Reed, Florida, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father: Richard Reed, step father: Gaylord Webster.
Nancy had worked at the Colchester Nursing home, and for Sodexo at Western Illinois University. When she lived in Colchester, she was a member of the Colchester Summer Ball program spending all summer at the ball park, she was also very active in raising funds to support the program, one of which was the haunted house. She loved being outdoors, gardening, taking care of her flowers. She loved playing pranks on friends and family along with getting together to play cards, board games, take morning or evening walks, or just to go for a ride in the country. She could spend hours just sitting and watching people. She always had animals around her, horses, goats, cats, dogs, any kind of animal. She had 3 fur babies at home that she loved dearly, Dill, Pickle and Relish. She had a huge heart for her friends and family, always ready to have family get togethers and she loved to cook for her family, especially during the holidays. Nancy loved the time she spent with her family.
Celebration of life will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with Gunthar Weaver. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 to 6:00 P.M. Friday. Memorial is to the family. Online condolences and memories may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
