Michael D. Roberts Sr. age 56 of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 1:15 A.M. Friday, May 1, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born November 18, 1958, in Macomb, Illinois to Richard Elmer and Erma Jean Gittings Roberts.
Surviving to mourn his passing are his Mother: Erma Jean Gittings, Oquawka, Illinois, 1 Son: Michael Roberts Jr., Macomb, 1 Daughter: C.J. Gordon, Macomb, 5 Granddaughters: Haddie Roberts, Rilya Kirby Roberts, Era Kirby Roberts, Mika Gordon, Nevaeh Gordon, 1 Brother: Richard Roberts, Hamilton, Illinois, and 1 Sister: Kathryn Curry, West Point, Illinois.
Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Grandparents, and Step Grandfather: Larry Gittings.
He was a self employed truck driver, and served his country in the United States Army.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at GoodHope Cemetery, Good Hope, Illinois, with Rev. Randy Whitmire. Visitation with the family will be 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Jones Mortuary, Colchester. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday. Memorial is to the family of Michael.
