Michael Lane Patterson

Michael Lane Patterson, age 65, passed away in his home in Colchester, IL surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, November 23, 2019. He was born on July 23, 1954 in Beardstown, IL to Larry and Patsy Patterson.

He graduated Colchester High School in 1973. He was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer. He was a volunteer fireman for the Colchester Fire Department. He volunteered as an instructor for the Hunter Safety Course for the IL DNR. He was an avid outdoorsman. His hobbies included riding his Harley, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, camping and spending time with his family. He had a love for his family pets. He enjoyed working with his father and grandfather at the Colchester Sports Center. He had an infectious smile and laugh and was a great practical joker, quick witted and always wore a smile.

He is survived by his mother, Patsy Patterson; his loving wife Elizabeth Patterson of 33 years; his five children, Jennifer (Rodney) Plate, Jill Patterson, Brandon (Jasmine) Patterson, Sarah (Shannon) Parker, Daniel (Sherry) Patterson; nine grandchildren, Emma Plate, Madelyn Plate, Liam Parker, Lilian Parker, Gunnar Patterson, Genevieve Patterson, Koa Van Sickle, Scarlett Patterson, Harper Buttrey; bother Craig (Jeanne) Patterson; sister Cathy (Jan) Pendell and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2019, at Jones Mortuary with Pastor Larry Rickard. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
