Melissa L. (Potter) Barajas Suarez

Melissa L. Barajas Suarez (Potter) age 47 of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.  She was born January 20, 1976, in Fort Hood, Texas, to Orie and Bertha Abrigo Potter.

Surviving to mourn her passing is her father and step mother: Bob (Judy) Potter, Monmouth, Illinois, her mother: Bertha Mendoza, Plymouth, 1 son: Jose Guadalupe (Mireya Maribel Mendez) Abrigo, Killeen, Texas, 2 daughtrers: Angelica Juarez, Killeen, Texas, Jazmin Barajas, Plymouth, 4 grandchildren: Xyleia Mirabel Abrigo, Exekiel Alfredo Abrigo, Zoeleigh Soul Abrigo, Gabriel Dalen Mendez, 1 brother: Robert Krista Lofting) Potter, Galesburg, half brother: Michael ( Jennifer) Abrigo, Killeen, Texas, 1 sister: Nicole (Derek) Therrien, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and 3 very special cousins: Sharlene Inman, Susie Roberts, and Sherry Miller.

Melissa enjoyed helping out with the Plymouth Old Settlers Celebration, going to car shows with her dad, watching and cheering for her daughter Jazmin while she played Volleyball  and Softball with Southeastern, going on drives, spending time with her best friend Jennifer.  She always looked forward to the time she spent with her family at Branson.  Most of all Melissa loved every moment she spent with her family and loved them very much.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial is to her daughter Jazmin’s education fund and can be sent to Jones Mortuary, Box 352, Colchester, Illinois, 62326. Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
