Matthew J Windhausen Sr.

    Matthew J. Windhausen Sr. age 69 of Bushnell, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at O.S.F. St Frances Hospital in Peoria.  He was born November 22, 1953 in Syracuse, New York, to Matthew T. and Alice Applegate Windhausen.  He was united in marriage August 5, 2005 in Macomb, to Karen Learned.

    Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife Karen Windhausen, Bushnell, 3 sons: Matthew J. Windhausen Jr., Syracuse, New York, Corey Windhausen, Syracuse, New York, Jay ( Jada) Guarin Jr., Marion, Iowa, 2 daughters: Debra (Shaun) Grisham, LaHarpe, Illinois, Julie Guarin, Marion, Iowa, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 1 brother: Mark Windhausen, Syracuse, New York, and 1 sister: Gretchen Stanton, Camillus, New York.

    Matthew was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother in law: Jim Stanton.

    Matthew served his country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed Nascar, wood working of which he built many pieces of furniture for Karen. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and just spending time outdoors.  Matthew loved getting to help his neighbors and friends with many different projects that they might have.  Matthew was a true carpenter in all the trades of the craft.  Most of all he loved the time he spent with Karen and his family.
