Mary "Peggy" (Lathrop) Foulk

Mary “Peggy” Foulk age 89 of Macomb, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.  She was born May 20, 1935 in Bowen, Illinois, to George Marvin and Marguerite Harmon Lathrop.  Peggy was united in marriage February 13, 1954 in Macomb, to Robert Foulk. He preceded her in death October 1991.

Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 son: Don (Cindy) Foulk, Prairie City, Illinois, 1 daughter: Debbie (Charlie) Schade, Bushnell, Illinois. 7 grandchildren: Mike (Stephanie) Foulk, Terry (Angela) Foulk, Bobbie Foulk, Lisa Schade, Jason (Jess) Schade, Kylee (Zack) Yeager, Amber (Jeff) Ussery, 15 great grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers: James Marvin Lathrop, Donald Lathrop, and 1 sister: Maxine Dorch.

Peggy graduated from Industry High School in 1953. In her early years she was a waitress at Bubs Truck Stop, Colchester Sale Barn, and Jennings Sale Barn, Peggy also drove for Kellys Cab. She helped her husband Bob farm. She drove a bus for Colchester School District for 30 years, then Macomb School District for an additional 20 years. In 50 years of driving a school bus Peggy never had an accident. Peggy had the privilege of driving many generations. All the students that she moved through the years loved her.  Peggy and Bob were both very active with Argyle Gas Engine Association where she served as the treasurer for many years. She and her family showed Antique Tractors. Peggy loved her horses and dogs. Most of all Peggy loved her family.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester.  Burial will follow the services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Visitation with the family will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the funeral home.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
