Mary Weaver Obituary

Mary Lou Weaver, age 84 of Colchester, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. She was born August 22, 1935, in Industry, to John and Florence Sharpe Heaton. She was united in marriage May 5, 1956, in Colchester to Marion Weaver.

Surviving to mourn her passing is her Husband of 63 years, Marion, Colchester; 2 Sons, Mike (Beth) Weaver, Colchester; Scott Weaver, Blandinsville; 4 Daughters, Marsha Weaver (Bill Miller) Lafayette, Indiana; Mablene Krueger, Arlington Heights; Millie Shields, Colchester; Missy (Allan) Hirst, Littleton, Colorado; 7 Grandchildren: Wayne (Julie) Phelps, Briana (Andrew) Perry, Kristin (Eric) Haines, Kaila (Glade) Mason, Amanda (Robbie) Hocker, Chris (Megan Porter) Weaver, Matt (Breann) Weaver, Numerous Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Dorla Harman and Betty Kost; 1 Sister-In-Law, Janet Heaton; many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces/Nephews, Cousins, and many others that Mary Lou considered family.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; 4 Sisters, Mabel Allen, Leona Henry, Jean Gallagher, Dorothy Sue Rumsey, and 1 Brother, Larry Heaton.

Mary Lou worked at the McDonough County Health Department for over 15 years as an in-home homemaker. Mary Lou and Donna Clauson cooked for the Colchester Lions Bingo nights for many years and then prepared meals for auctions held by Hughey Martin. She was very active in her family’s life, attending and helping out at all of her kids’ events at the Tennessee United Methodist Church, Colchester Schools, and many other activities. She was a past member of the Majorville Women’s Club. Mary Lou enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, flowers, animals, playing cards, playing slot machines, and country music. She instilled her strong work ethic into her kids and grandkids. Mary Lou’s family was the love of her life. The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for her throughout the past few years.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with Rev. Jim Clayton. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Colchester Rescue Squad of the Colchester Fire Protection District.
