Mary Jane Rings

Jane Rings age 75 of Colchester, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.  She was born November 2, 1944, in Warsaw, Illinois, to Russell and Vera Wallett Stuckwisch.  She was united in marriage to Terry Getz in Keokuk, Iowa in 1962.  He preceded her in death in 2005.  She was also united in marriage to Larry Rings March 17, 1991 in Burlington, Iowa.

    Surviving to mourn her passing is her husband of 29 years, Larry Rings, Colchester, 3 sons: Steve (Trisha) Getz, Carthage, Joe (Antonina Chyher) Getz, El Campo, Texas, Jeff (Lisa) Getz, Burlington, Iowa, 1 step son: Eric (Tracy) Rings, Huntsville, Alabama,  8 grandchildren: David Cromer, Allison, Cromer, Christy (Steven) Brown, Tiffany (Ashley) Getz-Austin, Dustin (Mary) Getz, Dylan (Taylor) Getz, Alex (Megan) Magner, Arin Getz ( Treon Bennett), 2 step grandchildren: Ryan Rings, Lane Rings, 9 great grandchildren, Halen, Houston, Ella, Ava, Owen, Claire, Layton, Memphis and Ada, 2 brothers: Donald (Sue) Stuckwisch, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Harold (Betty) Stuckwisch, Warsaw, Illinois, 

    Jane was preceded in death by her parents.

    She was a gifted piano player and enjoyed playing the calliope during the Labor Day parade. She was raised in a talented musical family. 

     She was a past member of the Colchester Library Board, where she helped raise money through selling Beanie Babies and embellishing books. Jane loved flower gardening, yard sales, antiquing, and traveling. She loved animals so much that she would never turn a stray away and they became her pets. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, who loved her kids and grandkids more than life itself.

       Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Jones Mortuary, Colchester, with her son Pastor Joe Getz officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn, Macomb. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30-6:30, Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Memorial is to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
