Marlin L. Duncan age 82 of rural Plymouth, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at his home. He was born August 12, 1938, in rural Plymouth to Leo and Vera Payne Duncan.
Surviving to mourn his passing are 2 brothers: Jack Duncan, Plymouth, Dick Duncan, SanDiego, California, 3 nephews: Gary (Erica Todd) Duncan, Tennessee, Michael (Julie) Duncan, Glenarm, Illinois, Sean Duncan, San Diego, California, 1 Great Niece: Jamie Duncan and 3 Great Nephews: Matthew Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Ryan Duncan.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister in law: Peggy Duncan.
Marlin served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Colchester High School, and San Diego Community College. He had worked at Farmer Insurance as a claims adjuster for automobile claims, then later on the family farm. While he was in California, Marlin worked at the Crystal Cathedral Church as a Youth Leader. He loved restoring cars, taking care of his cats, giving blood, and watching car racing and was avid in NASCAR. Marlin cared for his parents in their older years. He was a very active member of the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, he served as the church Treasurer. He was also the President of Hillsgrove Cemetery, and took great pride in the cemetery.
Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Hillsgrove Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Clayton. Military services at the grave by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2020, at the Jones Mortuary. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Monday.
