Obituary

Mark A. Beckner age 62 of Tennessee, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at McDonough District Hospital.  He was born September 30, 1960 in Macomb, to Gerald “Gerry” and Nedra Haare Beckner.  Mark was united in marriage June 30, 1988 in Macomb, to Tonya Ulrich.

Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 34 years Tonya Beckner, 3 children: Raquel (Tyler) Mason, Tennessee, Ethan (Brooke) Beckner, LaHarpe, Gage Beckner, Macomb, 3 grandchildren: Kataleya Mason, Clint Beckner, Briggam Beckner, 4 brothers: Gary (Jean) Beckner, Riedsville, South Carolina, Ed (Kim) Beckner, Tennessee, Kenith (Cynthia) Beckner, Colchester, Keith (Brenda) Beckner, Colchester, 1 sisiter: Norma (Kim) King, Davenport, Iowa, father and mother in law: Chuck and Pat Ulrich, Blandinsville, sister in law: Jale Haas, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, 1 uncle Robert Haare, 1 aunt: Margaret Councilman, and 1 nephew: Clint Renshaw.

Mark Beckner lived a purpose filled life.  If he ever worked for you, you already know this.  He believed that whatever you did, would have your name on it for as long as it lasted, so it better be right.  He lived his life, not for the approval of man, but as a humble servant of God, as Matthew 20: 26-28 states.  As a man who worked with his hands... his concrete was level, the gutters had fall, doorways were plumb and the ridgecaps were straight.

He could fix or build just about anything.  For Mark, life was not about a good time for himself- it was about your legacy and his legacy has always been his children.   His pride and joy.  He taught them the importance of God and service to others.  He loved helping others and using his skills and knowledge.  He was the happiest when he was helping someone who really needed him and couldn't afford to get that help anywhere else.

In closing... if Heaven didn't have a handyman before they do now.
