Marilyn Ann (Fitzjarrald) Whitford

Marilyn Ann Whitford age 79, of Macomb, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Elms Nursing home in Macomb.  She was born February 18, 1946, in Macomb, to Homer and Leota Phelps Fitzjarrald. Marilyn was united in marriage July 30, 1966, in Augusta, to Robert L. Whitford.  He preceded her in death on January 16, 2023.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 granddaughter: Mindy Akers, and 1 sister: Barbara Steinhour.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter: Sherry Whitford, Macomb, 1 son: Brad (Brooklee) Whitford, Macomb, 2 granddaughters: Sophie Whitford and McKenzi Whitford, 2 sisters: Judy (Lloyd) Martin, Colchester, Brenda (Chris) Hance, Macomb, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn had owned and operated Dolls and Dews, she had also worked at King Seeley in Macomb, Globe in Keokuk, Websters in Macomb, and she also had bartended at the Peacock and Lake In. Marilyn enjoyed mushrooming, fishing, bowling, camping, swimming, playing cards, shopping, and cookouts, she loved to cook for her family and friends. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Marilyn loved to go on car rides through the country, listen to country music, watch old westerns on TV, and visit with family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Friends may sign the register book  from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  Private burial will take place at a later date.  Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
