Marilyn Clayton Obituary

Marilyn Kay Clayton entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Macomb Post Acute Care Center, in Macomb.  She was born October 23, 1937 in Colchester, to her loving parents, Nelson and Mildred Sticklen Myers, and was raised in Colchester.  She continued in her parents footsteps and was filled with kindness and selfless giving of her time in helping others.

During Marilyn’s early adulthood, she was a devoted mother and wife.  She cherished her family and shared her many interests with them, including cooking, music, dance, flower gardens, and so much more.

Her family was the joy of her life and she was able to be with them for all the many celebratory occasions throughout the years.  She was always remembered fondly by friends and family for her beautiful smile, laugh, and positive outlook.  She had a heart filled with infinite love and compassion.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Colchester and later a member of the First Christian Church of Macomb.

She will continue to be and inspiration as she has assured a positive legacy of guidance to help her family cope with this immeasurable loss.  Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters: Rita Clark (David) Castro, Kathy (Darren) Chambers, two grandchildren: Shane (Jennifer) Chambers, Malory (Mike) Stacy, and five great grandchildren: Jack, Emma, Madelynn, Nora and Amelia.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Private burial will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements.  Memories and condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
