Marilyn I. Cavett passed away Thursday morning, February 11, 2016, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. She was born on March 1, 1924, in Macomb to Albert and Lena Henderson Watson. Marilyn married Charles Cavett on April 3, 1948, at Camp Creek Parsonage. He preceded her in death June 29th, 2009.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 3 Children: Beverly (Roger) Lundeen of Galesburg, Lynn ( Cindy) Cavett and Lonnie (Vickie) Cavett of Macomb, Eight Grandchildren: Jeff (Karen), Jennifer, Max and Jack Cavett and Tracie, Justin, Shannon and Chade Lundeen and two Great Grandchildren: Cam and Claire. Also surviving are TwoBrothers: Randall and Gene (Carol) Watson of Macomb.
Marilyn was Valedictorian of her Macomb High Senior Class in 1941 and also a graduate of Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a member of the McDonough County home extension. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Colchester. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Dennis Clements. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Sunday. Memorials are to McDonough District Hospital Hospice or the Elms Nursing Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
