Margaret had worked at Krogers grocery store in Colchester, Colchester Grade School Cafeteria, Arland Hockers Grocery Store in Colchester and owned and operated Margaret Shear Magic in her home for 29 years.  After she and Dwight retired in 1991, they would take their camper to Florida every winter and helped missionaries to print and bind Christian literature for EBI the Spanish Literature Division of Baptist Mid-Missions in Sebring Florida.  They did this for 8 years.  She was a member of the Argyle Bible Church where she served her Lord in many ways.  She loved music and crocheting.  She played the piano and taught her children and grandchildren many songs.  She sang in the church choir and with a group of ladies called the Joy Belles.  A highlight was when she was chosen from the audience at the Sunday School Convention in Peoria and sang a duet with the star singer Robbie Heiner in front on many people.  Watching her family grow and succeed in life brought her great joy, and she was always there to support them.
