Lester Allen Morrison

Lester Allen Morrison age 75 of Macomb, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at home with family at his side.  He was born August 8, 1949, in Statesville, North Carolina, to EG and Mary Ruth Morrison.  They both preceded him in death.  Lester was united in marriage February 6, 1971, at the Colchester United Methodist Church to L. Marlene Gross.  Surviving is his wife of 54 years Marlene Morrison, Macomb, 3 daughters:  Leslie (Jeff) Guehne Washington, Missouri, Jill McCamant (John Robinson) Princeton, Iowa, Erin (Adam) Rice Lombard, Illinois, 7 grandchildren:  Genevieve McCamant, Natalie Guehne, Brooke Guehne, Claire Rice, Sam Rice, Emilyn Rice, Everlie Rice 1 sister:  Trena (John) Bufe 1 nephew: Mark Bufe: 1 great niece Grace Bufe and 1 great nephew Finnlay Bufe.

Lester served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  He was a proud member of Charlie Company of the 101st Airborne, 501st Airmobile and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars.  He retired after farming most of his young life.  Lester loved every moment he spent with his family.

Visitation with the family will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester.  The Macomb American Legion and Macomb V.F.W. will perform military rites at 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Friends my view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Friday then from 8:30 A.M. to 4: P.M. Saturday.  The family will be going to the Macomb V.F.W. following the visitation and would like to invite friends to join them.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice, or Macomb American Legion and Macomb V.F.W.   Condolences and memories can be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
