Kent A. Kipling age 81 of Colchester, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at St. Johns Hospital, in Springfield, Illinois. He was born February 28, 1941 in Colchester to Cecil and Hazel Fentem Kipling. He was united in marriage March 12, 1971, in Colchester, to Dorothy Webster Walters.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Kipling, Colchester, 2 daughters: Jo (Paul) Bruns, Golden, Kim (Joe) Bushmeyer, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri,, 2 sons: Allen (Leann) Walters, Macomb, Kevin (Jean) Walters, Hoffman Estates, 11 grandchildren: Allison Walters, Collin Walters, Alex Bushmeyer, Audrey Bushmeyer, Nick Bushmeyer, Ryan Bushmeyer, Alyssa (Mick) Gooding, Andrea (Ian) Foss, Austin (Kayla) Bruns, Miriah (Jordan) Hatfield, Tyler (Cheyenne) Bruns, 12 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Bonnie Beck, Macomb and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Cecil Kipling and Lynn Kipling.
Kent proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Kent had worked at McGraw Edison in Macomb for 39 years. He was a member of the Colchester Lions Club for many years. He attended the Colchester United Methodist Church. Kent loved sports, especially baseball, from playing in his early years to coaching his kids and then watching and supporting them in school sports. He was an avid St Louis Cardinal fan. Kent loved the times when he and his dog would go on their walks around town. Kent’s true love in life was the time he spent with his family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary with Rev. Jim Clayton. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester with military rites by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Friday. Memorial is to the Colchester United Methodist Church or Colchester Lions Club. Condolences and Memories may be left to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com.
