Kaye (Ladd) Mowen

    Kaye Mowen age 66 of Colchester, went to be with her Lord, with her family at her side on Sunday, July 17, 2022.  She was born May 24, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois, to Leo and Edna Funk Ladd.  Kaye was united in marriage July 2, 1999, in Macomb to Duane Mowen.

    Surviving to mourn her passing is her husband Duane Mowen, Colchester, 3 sons: Ben (Malissa) Nelson, Paul (Gloria Diggs) Nelson, Derek Mowen, 2 daughters: Nicole (CJ) Protsman, Kristena (Robert Cagle) Mowen, 8 grandchildren: Tristen Protsman, Destanie Mowen, Hunter Protsman, Donovan Nelson, Brock Protsman, Jonothan Nelson, Joedon Nelson, Noah Nelson, 2 brothers: Jerry Ladd and Alan Ladd.

    Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother: Dale Ladd.

    Kaye was a member of the Macomb Crossing Church, Freedom Family Church in Arizona City.  She is a 1974 graduate of Illinois Valley Central High School, 1976 graduate of Stephens Academy of Beauty, 2000 graduate of Spoon River College.  She had been on the Colchester City Council serving on many committees, she had also worked 45 years in health care. Kaye loved watching her family race stock cars. She took heavy interest in gardening and  she also enjoyed spending the winter in Arizona. Kaye was the pack leader for the Cub Scouts in Colchester for many years. On top of that she was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Kaye’s family and faith was at the center of her life.

    Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary with Rev. Ben Ellefritz.  Visitation with the family will be 5:00 - 7:00 P.M July 29, 2022 at the funeral home.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M.
