Karen drove a school bus and drove for a charter bus company in Columbia, MO. in her younger years. She was a missionette leader to many children, and was a member of numerous churches. Her most passionate career was being a truck driver, which she began in 1983. She did this for 14 years. In her spare time she loved spending time with her children and her grandkids. Baking and cooking was her God given talent and something she really loved doing. She was especially known for her delicious homemade breads, drop biscuits, rolls, cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy, pies and cookies.
Karen had a joy for animals and had a male canine companion named Handsome who was a poodle whom she loved for many years up until he died several years ago. She then became owner to handsome’s son Pride who was also a poodle. She then got a little rowdy chihuahua named Max a few years later. She also had three beautiful cats she loved and cared for.
Karen had a passion for sewing and was known for making such beautiful quilts and afghans. Karen was a kindhearted woman who had a heart of gold. She was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, and was everyone’s adopted grandma or mom. She was the type of person who would give you her last dollar if she had it. Her biggest dream was to watch her grandkids graduate high school. She was able to achieve that dream in 2007 with her grandson Trenton, in 2011 with her granddaughter, Ashley, in 2013 with her granddaughter, Heather and 2015 with her granddaughter, Kailea. She was also able to watch her granddaughter, Ashley and Kailea graduate college, and her great grandson, Ashton graduate high school. Karen was most proud of her grandkids and all their accomplishments. She always said her grandkids brought her the most joy in her life. Karen lived a long fulfilling life and was a strong believer in God.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, the joy she shared, her beautiful voice, her words of wisdom and her guidance she always gave. She will forever be Loved and Missed.
