Karen K. Liggett

Karen K. Liggett age 70 of Colchester, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Memorial Hospital, Carthage, Illinois. She was born September 26, 1949 in Macomb, to Estle Dale and Virginia Eileen Sparrow Cromer. Karen was united in marriage to Donald Rittenhouse, June 14, 1974, in Macomb, he preceded her in death on February 6, 1995. She was then married to Ira Liggett on November 28, 2004, in Fandon.

Surviving to mourn her passing is her Husband: Ira Liggett, Colchester, 3 Sons: Kerry (Carmen) Foxall, Colchester, Lance (Steffanie) Rittenhouse, Brunswick, Georgia, Scott Rittenhouse, LaHarpe, 1 Daughter: Sherri (Marte) McKee, LaHarpe, 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers: Richard (Dottie) Cromer, Burlington, Iowa and Dale (Melva Jean) Cromer, Colchester.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, 1 Daughter: Wendy Gilbert, 1 Brother: Roger Cromer and Husband: Donald Rittenhouse.

Karen had owned and operated Karen’s Hair Affair in Colchester, past member of the Macomb American Legion and Macomb Eagles Club. She was a member of Fandon Christian Church. She was a graduate of the Burlington Beauty Academy and a 1967 graduate of Colchester High School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing bingo. The thing that brought the most joy to Karen was the time she spent with her family at the pool or family meals. She loved her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private family burial will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester at a later date. Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
