John C. Keeney "Bucket"

John C. “Bucket” Keeney age 70 of Macomb, passed away with his family at his side, at 4:45 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.  He was born December 8, 1952 in Macomb to Garney and Barbara Joanne Hall Keeney.  John was united in marriage January 5, 1973, in Prairie City to Debra McDonald, she preceded him in death on October 30, 2014.

Surviving to mourn his passing are 1 son: Curtis (Mindy) Keeney, Good Hope, 1 daughter: Kimberly Dooley, Bushnell, 7 grandchildren: Ashley (Russell Schneider) Keeney, Emily Gray, Abby Keeney, Quenton Dooley, Scarlett Smith, Josie Bell, Jacob Bell, 2 great grandchildren: Aubrey Schneider and Kyle Schneider.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 41 years Debra Keeney, and 1 brother; James Keeney

John graduated from Bushnell High School, he had drove a truck from 1974 to 2013.  He was a devoted member of the Victory Baptist Church in Macomb.  He enjoyed watching dirt track racing.  Most of all John loved his family dearly and enjoyed the time he spent with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of life will be held at the Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Eddy, at a later date.  Memorial is to Victory Baptist Church of Macomb.
