Jean Danielson age 73 of Colchester, passed away at 9:59 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2016, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois. She was born June 7, 1942, in Macomb, Illinois, to Jesse O. and Marie E. Baldner Douglas. Jean was united in marriage on June 24, 1962, in Colchester to J. Ray Danielson.
Surviving to mourn her passing are her husband of 53 years, 2 Sons: Mark and (Carol) Danielson, Carthage, Missouri, Mike and (Donna) Danielson, Colchester, Illinois, 5 Grandchildren: Kyle Danielson, Jesse Danielson, Joshua Danielson, Cheyenne Wilson, Laramie Wilson, 2 Great Grandchildren: Lukas and Emmett Wilson, 1 Brother: Kenneth and (Karen) Douglas, Jacksonville, Illinois, 3 Sisters: Cora and (Danny) Cavett, Mankato, Minnesota, Clara and (Dana) Rabideau, Fort Smith, Arkansas, Carole and (Gary) Turner, Duluth, Minnesota.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
Jean had taught Home Economics and Family Living at Colchester High School for 9 years. She was a graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelors in Home Economics and a Masters in Education. She retired from Western Illinois University Education Foundation after 22 years in 2005. She was a member of the Colchester United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and Chairman of the Mission Committee, Sew & So Club, Card club, and retired Tuesday lunch bunch. She had been a member of Colchester Jolly Housekeepers. She had tutored children at the Colchester Grade School, Kids Hope U.S.A. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Colchester United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Smith. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday.
