James "Jim" Paul Simpson

James “Jim” Paul Simpson, 82, recently of Jane, MO and formerly of Gravette, AR passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Jim was born on July 11, 1941 in Winfield, WV; the son of Howard Homer and Bessie Naomi (Roseberry) Simpson. He was predeceased by Jewell Poe, with whom he shared four children; Geraldine Haley, with whom he shared one daughter and two step-children; and Ruby Queen; three siblings, Larry Simpson, Drema Hill, and Marshall Simpson; and his parents.

Surviving are: five children; Valerie (Steve) Ramsey of Ohio, Shelly (Dean) Chapman of Ohio, Jeff (Belinda) Simpson of MO, Rhonda (Andy) Porter of KY, Nicole Robbins of IL; two step-children, Regina (George) Stolp of IL, and Travis Yocum of NC; and three siblings, Tony (Carol) Simpson of OH, Dena Peck of OH, and Vicky (David) Marcum of OH; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Jim loved God and trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all else. He was always a polite soul, loving to go on vacation to Branson with his family. He loved to spend time fishing, especially at Lake Bela Vista.

Jim had many jobs over his life, but his favorite was “retirement.”

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 29, 2024. at Pennington Point Cemetery, with Rev. Patsy Spratt.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling arrangements for the family.
