James D. (Bill) Ussery Jr. of Plymouth, Illinois passed away 19 September 2022. Bill was born 12 August 1943 in Tennessee, Illinois to James (Dee) Ussery Sr. and Betty (Kuhlman) Ussery.
On 10 June 1962, Bill married the love of his life Anita A. Jarvis in Plymouth, Illinois; recently celebrating 60 years of marriage.
They were blessed with two daughters; Lori (Scott) Brake, Altus Oklahoma and Julie (Brent) Smith, St Charles Missouri and son Jeff (Sharon) Ussery, Princeville Illinois. Four granddaughters; Carrie (Brian) Biggerstaff, Houston Texas, Frannie Brake, Altus Oklahoma, Hollie (Eli) Guerra, Del Rio Texas, Jessica Smith and fiancé Brett Williams, St. Charles Missouri and grandson Brady Smith, St. Charles Missouri. Three great grandchildren; Brian Biggerstaff Jr, San Marcos Texas, Leo Biggerstaff, Houston Texas and Bradley Biggerstaff, Houston Texas.
Bill is survived by sister Wilma Pointer and brother Robert (Carol) Ussery. Two sisters in-law; Elaine Jarvis and Norma Ussery along with 16 nieces and nephews. And of course his beloved Scooter!
Preceding in death; his parents, sisters Geneva Mayes and Mary Woods and brother Richard Ussery and three brothers in-law.
Bill attended first through seventh grades at Tennessee, eighth grade and Freshman at Colchester then graduating at Plymouth in 1961. He went on to complete schooling in Electronics and Electrical fields. In his teens, he worked for numerous farmers and Tennessee bowling alley. Bill worked for two years at the Tennessee Elevator. He then worked skilled maintenance for Haeger Pottery in Macomb IL from 1963 until closing in 2004.
His many loves were going to car shows/swap meets, collecting promos & Nascar and Batman cars. His favorite holiday was Christmas and playing Santa at his mom’s and dad’s for their 19 grandchildren.
Cremation rite have been accorded. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Graveside services will follow the visitation on Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb, with Gerald White officiant. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday, September 26, 2022. Memorial is to Donors Choice.
