Izella J. (Nelson) Switzer

Izella June Switzer age 89 of Colchester, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at her home in Colchester.  She was born February 25, 1934, in Colchester to Carl and Beatrice Vawter Nelson.  Izella was united in marriage on October 8, 1950, in Colchester, to Charles Switzer, he preceded her in death  November 23, 2009.

Surviving to mourn her passing are 2 sons; Terry and Sandy Roberts, Colana, Illinois, Gordon Switzer, Colchester, 1 daughter: Rita and Michael Clemento, Orlando, Florida, 7 grandchildren: Mellisa Roeder, Keil Frieden, Howard Huston, Tonya Sue Cameron, Jordon Switzer, Dustin Kongler, T.J. Roberts, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Beatrice Adams, Rosalie Kennedy and Linda Rice.

Izella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers: Floyd Nelson, Carl Tom Nelson, Gary Nelson, Leonard Nelson, Lloyd Nelson, 3 sisters: Alabama Shallenberger, Lousia Stallings, and Ardella Ritchie.

Izella was a member of the Colchester First Christian Church, Homemaker and house wife.  Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Pastor Nathan Nelson.  Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
