Ila Mae Clawson Steiner Robb, age 83 of Industry, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She was born April 30, 1941, in Rushville, Illinois, to Ira and Melba Clawson. Ila was united in marriage to Roger Steiner on June 28, 1961, in Industry, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 11, 2001. She later married Roger Robb on January 2, 2003, in New York Mills, Minnesota. She became part of his family including three sisters, two brothers, three sons, and many nieces and nephews. He preceded her in death May 26, 2009.
Surviving to mourn her passing are her sons Roger Steiner Jr. of Burlington, Iowa, Curtis (Shawna Sprinkle) Steiner of Macomb, Illinois, grandsons Felix Steiner and Calvin Steiner, son-in-law Robert Hardin, sister-in-law, Joyce Steiner and her sister, Francis Clawson Lantz.
Ila was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Roger Steiner and Roger Robb, daughters Marcella Hardin and Lucinda Steiner and her brother, William Clawson.
Her children fondly remember time spent with her while selling homegrown produce at the local Macomb farmers market, taking family road trips throughout the country, visiting national parks and attending church functions.
Ila attended West Prairie Presbyterian Church, met weekly with a fellowship of friends for Bible study and was a member of the McDonough Choral Society. She enjoyed eating uptown in Industry, visiting in the community and going to the village board meetings to stay informed about local events. She volunteered to drive people to church, events, appointments and took part in hosting church summer camps. Ila was knowledgeable of Clawson, Steiner, and Robb history and shared it with family. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the sights while on the way to visit distant relatives. Ila was a very proud grandma and loved her family.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. August 30, 2024 at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday.
