Hillis I. Luder age 93 of Avon, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She was born December 22, 1926, in Farmington, Iowa to George Fixsal and Jessie Schlatter. In 1946 Hillis married Carl Luder in Kahoka, Missouri.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 3 sons; Carl Larry (Jancis) Luder, Wylie,Texas, David (Kim) Luder, Moline, Il, Richard Luder of Macomb, Illinois, 3 daughters; Linda (Roger) Kelley, Colchester, Il, Sandra Ennis, Kansas City, Kansas, and Julia (Michael) Hawk, Avon, Il. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with one niece, Virginia Gray of Farmington, Iowa.
Hillis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 stepsons, 2 step grandsons and 1 daughter, Debra Lynn Demonico.
She worked for NTN Bowers for 26 years, Shaffer Pen, Burlington Iowa, and Dennis Chicken Factory, in Augusta, Illinois. She attended the Methodist Church in Avon.
One of her many joys was traveling. She visited all 50 states as well as Canada. She was the life of the party, loved listening to bands and dancing. Hillis enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crossword puzzles. She could finish a book in one evening. She had much love for her children, grandkids, great grand kids and her great-great grandkids.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth, Illinois with Pastor Jim Luder. Condolences to the family can be expressed at www.jonesmortuaryfh.com
