Helen B (Carter) Clark

    Helen B. Clark age 87 of Rural Colchester, passed away, Monday, December 12, 2022, at her home.  She was born June 10, 1935 in Monroe City, Missouri, to Archie and Erah Lilly Carter.  Helen was united in marriage September 25, 1954, at the Colchester First Christian Church in Colchester, to Richard Clark.

    Surviving to mourn her passing is her husband of 68 years, Richard Clark, rural Colchester, 1 son: Rodney (Linda Reisdorf) Clark, Davenport, Iowa, 1 daughter: Rose Christine (Lynn) Hood, Bushnell, 5 grandchildren: Monica Burney, Moline, Danielle Clark, Hamilton, Patty Clark, Tampa, Florida, Justin (Jennifer) Hood, Bushnell, Doug (Danielle) Hood, Bushnell, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.

    Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 1 granddaughter: Jamie Lynn Clark, 1 sister: Ruth Mayall, and 1 brother: Glen Carter.

    Helen was a member of the Colmar Christian Church, she graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953. Helen was a housewife and Richards right hand, she drove the grain truck and helped in the field.  She was a great cook and enjoyed having everyone gather around the table to watch them eat what she had prepared.  She was a yard sale addict, she loved going to and having them.  She also enjoyed going on the Spoon River Drive and Colchester Labor Day.  She also loved to roller skate.  Most of all Helen loved being with her family and working along side Richard.

    Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary with Rev. Dan Ormand.  Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Colmar, Illinois.  Visitation with the family will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
