Harry D. Green

Harry D. Green age 81 of Colchester, passed away at his home in Colchester with his family at his side, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.  He was born April 19, 1943 in Melrose Park, Illinois, to Benjamin F. and Corrine Bistadue Green.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Wall in Macomb on February 25, 1972.

Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Green, Colchester, 1 son: Bill (Jennifer) Green, Peru, Illinois, 1 daughter: Chris (Mike) Powell, Pleasant Plains, Illinois, 6 grandchildren: Josh Green, Jacey Green, Allen (Cassie) Clark, Sierra (Josh Heaton) Brummett, Heather Barry and family, Shannon Konkler and family, 2 great grand daughters: Lucy Clark, Frankie Clark, and 2 sisters: Phyllis Henry, Aledo, Illinois, Wilma Williams, Sciota, Illinois.

Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.  He got to go with his son in law 2 years ago on the Honor Flight to Washington.  Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, going with his son, Bear and Caribou hunting.  He was truly and outdoors man.   He and Dorothy loved to travel.  They spent a month seeing the west coast after Dorothy retired.  They also traveled with their daughter Chris to see the beaches in Key West, Myrtle Beach, Sanibel, Panama City, Pensacola and many more.  Most of all Harry loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Visitation with the family will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester.  Military rites will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home, by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion.  The family has asked that everyone comes dressed casual or patriotic.  Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Friday or from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday.  Memorial is to McDonough District Hospital Hospice or Macomb V.F.W. or Macomb American Legion.
