Glen Bartlett Obituary

Glen E. Bartlett 86 of Macomb, passed away with his family at his side, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at his home in Macomb after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Palsy and Dementia.  He was born February 21, 1937, in Colchester, to Glen W. and Dorothy Grafton Bartlett.  Glen was first united in marriage to Twila Prichard. He was then united in marriage to Sheryl Hawkins, December 3, 1978, at the First Christian Church in Macomb.

Glen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sheryl Bartlett, Macomb, 1 son: Greg (Dee) Bartlett, Powder Springs, Georgia, 3 daughters: Brenda (Dalen Kelly) Williams, Tennessee, Debbie (Charlie) Schwalm, Canton, Lori (Scott) Sibbing, Colchester, 7 Grandchildren: Carrie (Edward) Peters, Matt (Katie) Denney, Blake (Devyn) Denney, Kirk Denney, Ramon (Ashley) Bartlett, Cris Bartlett, Nico Bartlett, 12 great grandchildren: Jordan Peters, Jonathan Peters, Megan Peters, Brycen Denney, John Denney, Maci Denney, Emerson Denney, Charlotte Denney, Parker Bartlett, Walker Bartlett, Bailey Bartlett, Fallyn Bartlett, 1 sister: Mary (Bob) Bice, Colchester, 1 brother in law: Tony (Diane) Hawkins, Nixa, Missouri, 1 sister in law: Linda Larner, San Diego, California, along with many nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Anthony Williams, son in law: Zeke Williams, first wife: Twila Schrodt, sister: Joan White, and 2 very special mother in laws: Hazel Prichard and Beverly Carter.

Glen was one of the first in the new NTN Bower plant, working from 1966 to his retirement in 1999. While working for NTN Glen got the chance to travel to Japan to tour those plants. He was a past member of the Macomb Elks Lodge, and Colchester First Christian Church, Life member of the Colchester then Macomb Masonic Lodge, Member of the Fort Myers Country Club and Gold Hills Golf Coarse.  Glen loved to listen to music and dance, he loved to listen to his grandson Anthony sing with the Beck Brothers.  He was active in the Illinois Senior Golf Tour, and played in many local Pool leagues.  Glen’s gift to himself on his retirement was a trip to Scotland with a group of friends to play golf.  Glen always had time for his family and grandchildren.  He loved to take his grandsons hunting and taught them the game of golf.  Glen loved every moment that he got to spend with his family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Jones Mortuary with Pastors Mike and Cindy Williams.  Cremation will be accorded following the service with a private family burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester at a later date.  Visitation with the family will be 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.  Friends may view and sign the register book a the funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Sunday.
