Franklin Hocker Obituary

Franklin (Frank) C Hocker, age 89, of Davenport passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side.

Frank was born November 12, 1933, the son of Charles and Bessie Hocker. On July 23rd 1988 he was united in marriage to Betty Campbell. They were happily married for 34 years.

One of the greatest joys in Frank's life came during his later years when he organized the Shriners Softball Tournament. All the funds he raised from this tournament he donated to the Shriners Children's hospital. These donations allowed him to be a member of the Gold Book Society. Frank was a proud member of the KAABA Shrine. Frank also served as a softball umpire for 65 years. When he wasn't working as a softball umpire or organizing softball tournaments, he loved to go hunting. In his earlier years Frank also served in the United States Army.

Frank is survived by his wife Betty. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Per Franks wishes he was cremated.  Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester with Rev. Jim Clayton.  Military services at the grave by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb V.F.W.  Jones Mortuary in Colchester is handling local arrangements.

Memorials can be sent to Frank and Betty's home and directed towards either the Shriner's Children's Hospital or to be used towards softball related activities in the Davenport area.
