Everett F. Chapin Jr. age 91 of Colchester, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Nixa, Missouri. He was born July 30, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to Everett and Ada Wells Chapin Sr. Everett was united in marriage December 24, 1968, in Macomb, to Mary Carle.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 52 years, Mary Chapin, Colchester, his children Dannie (Linda) Chapin, Cameron, Illinois, Lea Chapin, North Port, Florida, Rick (Dixie) Chapin, Colchester, Tim (Paula) Echternkamp, Springfield, Illinois, Tacey (Sam) Endsley, Springfield, Missouri, Angie (Alex) Bryant, Nixa, Missouri, grandchildren: Casey Chapin, Aaron Chapin, Brittany (Cody) Stambaugh, Hannah (Wesley) Gray, Megan Chapin, Delbert (Kayla) Echternkamp, Nicholas Endsley, Ian Endsley, Zachary Endsley, Trey Bryant, Michael Bryant, Mason Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Katie Bryant, great grandchildren: Lauren Powell, Lindsay Powell, Corbin Stambaugh, Harper Stambough, Olivia Stambaugh, Haddie Gray, Charlytt Echternkamp, Colt Echternkamp, Isaac Endsley, brothers: Ernest (Bonnie) Chapin, Laharpe, Illinois, Johnny (Marianne) Chapin, Anderson, South Carolina, sisters: Ellyn (Charles) Miller, Weaver, Iowa, Mary (Gary) Barr, Colchester, Illinois, Elaine (Tom) Ferguson, Nauvoo, Illinois, Pam (Jim) Jefferson, Carthage, Illinios, and many nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister: Evelyn Simmons.
Everett owned and operated Chapin Feeds in Colchester. He served his country during the Korean War and was very proud to be a Veteran. His hobbies were work, raising hogs, and playing with his grandchildren. Everett loved his family. Three adjectives used to decribe Everett are “onery” “stubborn” and “tender hearted”.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the Macomb Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Jon Keck. Burial will follow the services at LaHarpe Cemetery with military rites by the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion. Friends may view and sign the register book at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester from 8:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 30. Memorial is to the Macomb Assembly of God Church.
