Elva F. Jefferson

Elva F. Jefferson age 91 of Macomb, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. Elva was born January 14, 1926, in Tennessee, Illinois, to Bert and Agnes Wilcox Cuba. She was united in marriage on November 3, 1945, at the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, to Hoyt Jefferson. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2004, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 Daughter: Anita Jefferson, 1 Sister, and 4 Brothers.
Surviving to mourn her passing are 1 Son: John David (Colleen) Jefferson, Grundy Center, Iowa, 1 Daughter: Caralee (Bill) McGinnis, Carthage, Illinois, 6 Grandchildren: Tim (Marci) Jefferson, Nathan Jefferson, Luke Jefferson, Jacob (Jeni) Jefferson, Molly (Lenny) Sanders, Dan (Mary) McGinnis, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 Brother In Law: Dean Jefferson, 1 Sister In Law, Maribeth Jefferson along with several Nieces and Nephews.
Elva attended the New London Iowa, Presbyterian Church, Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, Argyle Presbyterian Church. She attended Western Illinois University, Valedictorian of her 1943 Colchester High School Class, received the D.A.R. in 1943, She was a member of the, New London Tri T Women, McDonough County Home Bureau, and the McDonough County Farm Bureau. Elva had been employed by the McDonough County Farm Bureau.
Services will be 12 Noon Friday, October 13, 2017, at the Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with Rev. Jim Clayton. Visitation with the family will be from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Memorial is to the Elms Nursing Home Staff. On line Condolences to the family can be left at jonesmortuaryfh.com
